Sandes

Sandes is an open-source instant messaging platform developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. It has been designed to facilitate seamless messaging communication within Government organizations, exclusively hosted on Government infrastructure. Sandes offers end-to-end encrypted messaging, encrypted backup, and encrypted OTP services, ensuring secure communication.
The privacy and data policy of Sandes strictly adheres to the regulations set by the Government of India. The platform allows integration with various Government communication systems at zero cost, enabling the transmission of encrypted messages. Presently, Sandes is integrated with NIC email, DigiLocker, and e-office.
The complete set of features available on the Sandes app is currently accessible only to verified Government users. Employees of Government organizations can reach out to the Nodal officer of their Ministry/Department for the verification process.
